What is Tucker Street?

Tucker Street came about from a bunch of foodies who believe in cooking and eating delicious, whole and unprocessed foods wherever possible. Tucker Street is a Melbourne based food-delivery business that helps make dinners at home just as tasty as the amazing dinner-out options that Melbourne has to offer by delivering boxes packed with market-fresh, seasonal ingredients, pre-portioned for you to make 3 x dinners for two, generally within 30 minutes.

Tucker Street is all about Melbourne, from sourcing ingredients locally as much as possible to cultivating relationships with Melbourne restaurants, chefs and food brands to feature their recipes in our boxes – Tucker Street embodies the Melbourne foodie through and through! You’ll be able to recreate Melbourne’s iconic dishes in your own kitchen, quickly and easily. No planning, supermarket visits or fuss.

How does Tucker Street work?

Tucker Street  delivers a box packed with market-fresh, locally sourced ingredients, pre-portioned to make 3 x dinners for two people (or essentially 6 meals/portions for one) generally within 30 minutes.
Tucker Street offers a choice of 3 boxes depending on your food preferences. Each week a Tucker Street box will feature a collaboration dish with an iconic Melbourne chef, restaurant or food brand for you to recreate at home.

Delivery

What time should I expect my delivery?

The majority of our deliveries are made on Sunday morning (between 12AM and 9AM) to make sure you have your meals ready to go for the start of the week. If you haven’t received your box within this delivery window, please contact our customer service team at [email protected] and they will be happy to help you track your box.

Where does Tucker Street deliver?

We currently deliver across Melbourne metro. For more details see our delivery page

Do I need to be home to sign for my package?

As we begin to deliver in the wee hours of Sunday morning, our delivery person will generally leave the package for you at your front door or another location specified by you.

You may provide additional delivery instructions when placing the order, such as asking the package to be left at a specific location on your property or with a neighbour. If you live in a secure apartment please provide instructions for how we can access the building.

Since our food is packaged with insulated liners and gel packs, it will remain cold and fresh for you until you wake up on Sunday morning.

Will my food stay fresh in transit?

Yes, each box is carefully packaged to stay fresh for during delivery and for several hours after your delivery arrives.

However, we recommend you put the contents in your refrigerator as soon as possible for best results and to maintain the freshness of your ingredients throughout the week.

How do I update my address?

If you have already placed an order and you need to update your delivery address please contact us as soon as possible at [email protected]

You can alter the address anytime up to 11:59 p.m. on Friday evening for Sunday delivery.

If you have NOT placed your order and you wish to change your address for future deliveries, you can update your address in the “My Account” section of the website.

How much does delivery cost?

The delivery is free for all orders of 1 box or more.

Recipes and Ingredients

What do I get in my Tucker Street box?

Tucker Street  delivers a box packed with market-fresh, locally sourced ingredients, pre-portioned to make 3 x dinners for two people (or essentially 6 meals/portions for one). Ingredients are measured and sometimes pre-cut to make cooking with Tucker Street a breeze (think how the chefs on TV have everything pretty much done for them!)

Each dinner is accompanied by a 6-step recipe card that guides you through the recipe.

As you might have guessed, we don’t send you the pots and pans you’ll need to cook at home, serving platters and plates. We will always provide you with specialty oils, eggs and condiments but we don’t send you salt, pepper and olive oil – the staples that we assume you already have.  You can view all of the required ingredients for your Tucker Street recipe on the respective recipe page.

What sort of ingredients are in my Tucker Street box each week?

We provide a range of seasonal recipes that include red meat, poultry, seafood and vegetarian meal options each week which is how our boxes differ. Our BARRY box meals all include a red or white meat. Our STEVIE box contains 1 meat dish, 1 seafood dish and 1 vegetarian dish. Our FINN box contains only seafood or vegetarian dishes.

We source only the highest quality wholefoods and raw ingredients, giving you the best produce possible. Most of our dry goods such as grains and nuts are organic (anything organic will be specified in the ingredient list on your recipe card) and we’re very proud to say all our meat, seafood and poultry is free-range or ethically and locally sourced.

How long does the food stay fresh?

Our meals are designed to stay fresh for up to a week from the day of delivery.

However, we recommend cooking fish and seafood dishes first to make sure you eat it at its peak freshness.

What if my delivery is missing an ingredient?

Should I wash my vegetables before cooking with them?

Onion and shallots that have been pre-cut and vacuum sealed do not need to be washed.

We do however recommend that you wash fruit and vegetables and rinse herbs before cooking them.

What happens if I lose my recipe card?

If you misplace your recipe card, please contact us at [email protected] or via contact form available here and we will email it to you.

What pantry staples do I need?

Staples may vary from week to week, but they mostly include basics such as salt, pepper and olive oil.

For cooking equipment, all you need are standard pots, pans and knives.

Sometimes we might suggest the use of fancier equipment however, just  in case you don’t have them in your kitchen, we include alternative equipment or steps to complete the recipe.

Do you provide nutritional and calorie information?

We provide estimated calorie and nutritional information for each of our recipes. These details can be found on the respective recipe pages however typical meal will generally contain around 500-800 calories.

How long do the recipes take to cook?

Our recipes are quicker to cook with us  as we save you planning, shopping and searching-for-ingredient time. Most of our recipes can be prepped and cooked within 30 minutes. Some recipes are as quick as 15 minutes while a few go up to 45 minutes. Recipes that take more than 30 minutes are generally those that you can leave without watching i.e. to simmer/roast for 30 minutes so often they are easier than the quicker ones!  Each recipe will have information on the time it takes to cook on the recipe card and the recipe’s individual page on our site.

Do you accommodate allergies?

Currently, we can’t guarantee that our ingredients are packaged in an allergen-free facility. However, we do try our best to accommodate a range of dietary needs by incorporating dairy-free and gluten free recipes to our box menus.

Subscription

Is Tucker Street subscription service?

Yes, we are a weekly subscription service, but there is no minimum term and you can change your deliveries to fit with your lifestyle. When you place your first order, you are automatically enrolled into our subscription service and you will be set up to receive a weekly or fortnightly box delivery.

The cut-off for subscription adjustments (pauses, cancellations, order restarts and box type changes) made through the online customer login is 12pm on the Wednesday before your next delivery

Can I choose my recipes?

At this stage, you can choose your preferred box but not the recipes within the box.  

There are three Tucker Street boxes to choose from – Our BARRY box meals all include a red or white meat. Our STEVIE box contains 1 meat dish, 1 seafood dish and 1 vegetarian dish. Our FINN box contains only seafood or vegetarian dishes.

Each week, we feature new recipes within the boxes which can be found on the individual box pages. Across our menu, we will also feature a collaborator recipe from a Melbourne restaurant, food brand or online blogger.

Although you cannot choose specific recipes, you can change your box preference by logging into your account page. Please note that all changes must be made before 12pm Wednesday prior to the following week’s delivery.

How do I change my box subscription?

To change your box preference, simply login to your account and edit your subscription preferences. Please note that all changes must be made before 12pm Wednesday prior to the following week’s delivery.

How do I pause my subscription?

If you’re travelling or would like to hold your subscription for any reason, simply login to your account and select the “Switch/Pause/Cancel Subscription” button whereupon you can choose “Pause My Subscription”.

You will be able to hold your delivery for up to 4 weeks. Just make sure that you make these changes before Wednesday 12pm prior to the following week’s delivery.

 

You just need to login to your account and select the “Switch/Pause/Cancel Subscription” button whereupon you can choose Cancel Subscription from the “Pause or Cancel Subscription” drop down.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time and at no cost. You just need to login to your account and select the “Switch/Pause/Cancel Subscription” button whereupon you can choose Cancel Subscription from the “Pause or Cancel Subscription” drop down.

Please note that cancellations must be made before 12 pm on the Wednesday prior to your next delivery.

What is the cutoff date to skip a week, put my deliveries on hold, or cancel?

Because we plan our meals in advance, any changes must be made by 12pm on the Wednesday before your next delivery.

What payment methods do you accept?

You can pay with either PayPal or Credit Card. We currently accept both Visa and MasterCard.

When will you charge my card?

Your card will be charged every week a few days before each order’s delivery date. You will not be charged if you choose to pause your subscription.

Account

How do I change the address information on my account?

To change your delivery address information, simply login to your account and manage your subscription right there. Please note that all changes must be made before 12pm Wednesday prior to the following week’s delivery.

If an urgent delivery address change is required past the mentioned deadline, please contact us on [email protected] and we will do our best to accommodate the change.

How do I change the billing information on my account?

You can easily make changes to the billing information on your Tucker Street account by clicking “Change Payment Details” on your account page. From this page, you can add and/or edit your existing information.

How do I change the login information for my account?

You can change both your login email address and your password from the “Email & Password” tab of your account page. Please note, you must have your current password in order to make changes to your email address or to create a new password.
